On Tuesday, February 12, 2013, the Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce held its monthly “Business After Hours” event at CAP’s new Grounds for Opportunity (GFO) café and training kitchen.
CAP and the Family Health Center co-hosted the event for the business community.
CAP Executive Director Ilona Kerby welcomed the guests, explaining that GFO is a full service café, open weekdays to the general public, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and a job skills training center for the restaurant industry, plus it is CAP’s central kitchen where its Meals on Wheels and Senior Community Lunches are prepared daily.
Family Health Center Executive Director Dian Cooper provided tours to FHC’s new clinic in Kelso, two blocks from GFO.
76 people attended the function where they enjoyed great food provided by GFO’s Chef Keven Robinson and his staff, great wine provided by the Family Health Center, and great networking opportunities.
Most interesting comment of the evening: “You mean real people can come here to eat?”
